Hirschfeld received her ophthalmology training at the renowned Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital on Manhattans Upper East Side, where she was one of the first ophthalmologists-in-training to perform laser vision correction. She later received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and completed an internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
